Can I get a loan without a business history?

Financial Know How

In many cases, you can.  While each business is different, there are many situations where you can get credit without a business history or formal business projections.  The first step is to sit down together and discuss your specific plans and goals.  That allows me to identify strategies and financial solutions that are appropriate for you.  It's helpful if you bring your last two Notices of Assessment and your latest tax return.  I've seen many different circumstances where businesses need access to cash in a hurry - for instance, to meet seasonal demand or a large unexpected order.  We've helped in situations where children are taking over the business from their parents and are looking to spruce up the store or do minor renovations.  And then there are individuals who are new to business.  They have an idea for a venture, bur are not sure what financing they will need.  The good news is that, in each case, we have the tools and resources tht can help me deliver what's needed - from loans, to succession planning resources, to online learning through our unique ScotiaSkills eNuggets or our Small Business Management Certificate Program.  We also offer discounted tax and accounting software that can help with day-to-day administration.  Whether my clients are owners of smaller businesses, have professional practices, or are planning start-ups, I take great pride in delivering advice and information that ultimately helps them improve their bottom line.  It all starts by getting together to talk about your goals, and then exploring the possibilities.
